A stationary workshop machine that machines (turns/cuts) brake rotors and drums after they have been removed from the vehicle. It is mounted on a bench or stand and uses its own precision arbor/spindle to hold and spin the rotor. The rotor is mounted on the lathe's central arbor and secured with a cone and nut. The machine's motor spins the rotor while a stationary cutting tool is fed across the surface, removing material to create a fresh, flat, parallel friction surface on both sides of the rotor simultaneously (for most designs).
