Tyre Grinding Machine

A specialized workshop machine used to remove rubber from a tyre's tread surface. It is primarily used to prepare competition racing tyres (slicks) to a precise, optimal tread depth and surface texture for maximum grip. A powerful electric motor spins a rotating grinding head or large abrasive belt against the surface of a slowly rotating tyre. The operator controls the amount of rubber removed by adjusting the depth and speed of the pass.
